Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)

All procedures are approved by Notified Bodies and performed according to both ISO EN 15609-1:2004 and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section IX. There're specifications for each process / combination, in any type of material according to the relevant P number / Group number, and in compliance with special requirements, for instance, low temperature Carbon Steel with Charpy V @-60°C. or Stainless Steel with Charpy V @-196°C. The procedure choosen for each single welding can be downloaded from our website e-Workshop by clicking on the relevant link shown beside the product while it is being welded.

Welding processes
AWS EN Description Materials
G.T.A.W. 141 Gas Tungsten Arc Welding All
S.M.A.W. 111 Shielded Metal Arc Welding All
G.M.A.W. 135 Gas Metal Arc Welding All
F.C.A.W. 136 Flux Cored Arc Welding All
S.A.W. 121 Submerged Arc Welding All
P.A.W. 15 Plasma Arc Welding Stainless Steel

Procedure Qualification Records (WPQR)

In these records are stated all parameters used and test results obtained for each Test Coupon performed with the relevant W.P.S.; to do that, each welding machine is equipped with a Welding-Box™, that is an electronic device able to record and print all welding parameters for each welding pass. Based on the project requirements, the type of mechanical tests and their temperature, heat treatments, chemical analyses, etc., our procedures are qualified according to the following standards:

  • ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel code Section IX
  • UNI EN 15614-1:2004
  • ISO 404
  • DIN

The system we use to define and keep under control the most important welding parameters is included in a simple software named "Virtual Welding", check it out and let us know what do you think about it.

Welders & Welding Operators (WPQ)

The persons involved in both preparation and execution of the welding activities are quelified according to the here below listed codes. Each single record is updated by means of cyclic controls (each six months) and validated by an Authorised Third Part Inspection Agency (TPI) UNI CEI ISO/IEC EN 17024 accredited. The operator which is doing the welding can be identified from our website e-Workshop by clicking on the relevant ID letter shown beside the product while it is being welded so as to download his WPQ.

  • ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel code Section IX
  • EN 287-1:2012
  • EN 1418:1999

Non Destructive Examinations (NDE)

Welding are normally subject to Non Destructive Tests according to the most stringent internationa standards, click here to visit our N.D.E. Dept.
